Stages & altitudes
The classic Dolomites hut-to-hut route: from Lago di Braies through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature park, over Forcella del Lago to Rifugio Lagazuoi (2,752 m), then past Nuvolau, the Civetta and Moiazza walls and the Schiara group to Belluno. Weather risk is afternoon thunderstorms on the forcelle, early- and late-season snow on the high passes, and rockfall on the scree gullies after heavy rain.
